1856 –  After a discussion about the late season, the Willie handcart company leaves Florence (Winter Quarters), Nebraska, for the Salt Lake Valley.

1882 – The Utah Commission, created by the antipolygamy Edmunds Law, arrives in the Utah Territory to begin supervising election procedures in Utah and to enforce the disenfranchisement of much of the Mormon population.

1985 – Elder Neal A. Maxwell dedicates the first building built specifically as an LDS meetinghouse in Ghana
