Flesh as bread, blood as wine
We take, to remember a love divine,
We take, to remember the cost,
Of all we would have lost.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
You claimed each soul as Thine,
The blood of the Lamb,
The mark on each hand.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
We begin to refine,
For all the mistakes we’ve made,
You took, and the price You paid.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
We partake as a sign,
That we’ll take upon Your name,
That will not remain the same.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
Each precious, sacred line
Of a prayer we give to Thee,
A promise of eternity.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
Our dimmed lights begin to shine,
Our impure souls begin to cleanse,
And we see through eternal lens.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
To Your will we aline,
Because on the cross You bled,
Our mistakes, we can shed.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
Your plan, a divine design,
Because His felt the pain,
Eternal life we gain.
Flesh as bread, blood as wine
To remember a person, and a price divine.
