Eternal Truth
A testimony was born
When I found the iron rod
And the words first etched in gold
Resounded deep in my soul.
Experiences of old
Were confirmed by Spirit’s seal
They nearly became my own
My strength as I daily read.
Truth is outside time and sight
Life in the Fulness of Times
Affords a wealth of knowledge
All from other’s sacrifice.
I haven’t seen your finger
My tears never bathed your feet
Wept as you prayed to Father
Or watched in Gethsemane.
I wasn’t there at the tomb
Never saw you teach the Twelve
Or institute the emblems
We partake each Sabbath day.
Yet I know you’re Father’s Son
Know you wrought the Atonement
And I testify today
A latter-day child of God.
