A limited power to love
Is found on this side of the veil.
Only pure love, felt from above
Can teach us to love without fail.
I cannot doubt Father’s love.
The Savior’s love was pure and whole
Given without any measure
When Gethsemane rent His soul
Perfect love helped Him to endure.
I cannot doubt Father’s love.
When in despair, or grief or pain
I’ve humbly called on Him in prayer
My pleadings were never in vain
He’s shown me how much He does care.
I cannot doubt Father’s love.
I’ve known the Comforter’s touch
That feeling of love will abide
In a heart that’s felt so much
Even on this, the veil’s dark side
I cannot doubt Father’s love.
He’s told us we should love as He
He’s told us to forgive all men
He’s shown us what pure love can be
And each day He shows us again.
I cannot doubt Father’s love.
