Hello, I am a person just like you.
With a story much like yours, too.
In the abyss, the depths of despair.
You know the place, you have been there.
Wallowing in guilt, drowning in shame.
When a still small voice called me by name.
And when it did, on my knees, I knelt.
As a peace, I had never felt.
My soul felt clean, awashed, and new.
Desperately, I cried out, “Who are you?”
The voice whispered, “I go by many names.”
“But, their meaning is the same.”
The Messiah, the Christ, the Prince of Peace.
Shepherd, Savior, the One you seek.
The Sustainer of All Things.
The Advocate, the King of Kings.
The Word, King of Israel.
The Living Water, & Immanuel.
The Rock, the Chief Cornerstone.
The Path to your Heavenly Home.
The Lamb of God, the Mediator.
The Bread of Life, the Creator.
The Lord of Hosts, the Anointed One.
The Beloved, the Only Begotten Son.
The One who’s come to bear all strife.
The Way, the Truth, the Life.
The Source of Salvation, the True Vine.
The Lord Most High, Redeemer of Mankind.
In this broken world, I was born.
And took upon Me, a crown of thorns.
I go by many names.
But their meaning is the same.
I am here to wash, clean, renew.
They mean I am here to save you.
