1834 – The Prophet Joseph Smith and his party rode 36 miles to Father Edmund Bosley’s in Livonia, New York. (History of the Church, 2:43).
1835 – The Prophet Joseph Smith calls upon the newly called Twelve Apostles to serve their first mission to the eastern states and the Atlantic seaboard. (History of the Church, 2:209).
1836 – Mr. Seixas, the teacher of Hebrew class in Kirtland, Ohio, left to gather his wife and family to Kirtland. His contract to teach class had been extended and his students, including the Prophet Joseph, were enjoying his teaching.

1844 – The Prophet Joseph told Brother Cole that he needed to move his school out of the upper room of the Red Brick Store as he needed it for more important purposes. The school moved to the home of Henry Miller. In the evening, a group of Nauvoo citizens met at the schoolhouse on the hill on Parley Street to discuss the possibility of organizing a co-operative store in their area.
1849 – The provisional government of Deseret elects its first officers including Brigham Young as governor.
1961 – The first stake in the Netherlands is organized at the Hague. It is the first non-English stake in the Church and is called the Holland Stake.

1987 – The Church announces that the seventy-six-year-old Hotel Utah, in downtown Salt Lake City, will be closed and renovated to function as a meeting house, family history library, and offices for Church administration.

1995 – Gordon B. Hinckley is ordained and set apart as the fifteenth President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Thomas S. Monson as First Counselor, and James E Faust as Second Counselor. Also on this date, the first stake in the Republic of Ireland is organized in Dublin.

2000 – The Tuxtla Gutierrez Mexico Temple is dedicated by President James E. Faust, Second Counselor in the First Presidency.

2006 – The Santiago Chile Temple is rededicated by President Gordon B. Hinckley after going through extensive renovation and refurbishing.
2011 – Four hundred Latter-day Saints in McLean, Virginia, participated in a day of service interacting with their neighbors in helping 40 non-profit service organizations in their area.
2020 – The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles sent notice that “We have considered the counsel of local Church leaders, government officials and medical professionals, and have sought the Lord’s guidance in these matters. We now provide the following updated directions.Beginning immediately, all public gatherings of Church members are being temporarily suspended worldwide until further notice.’
2021 – New details are released about the Salt Lake and Manti Temples. In addition to the seismic protection, which is the principal reason for the temple renovation, many other improvements and changes to the temple and its surroundings are being made. More ordinance rooms, a second baptistry, and two instruction rooms are being added to allow for greater capacity and more temple ordinances in Salt Lake. Manti, similar to the changes in the Salt Lake Temple, the progressive room-to-room presentation by live actors will transition to single-room presentations by film.
